Hartcliffe Engineering Community College

Teaching and Support Staff

We ensure that class sizes are kept small in the Years 7 to 9 and in the Years 10 and 11 we work on an average of about 21 pupils per class. Our fully qualified teaching staff are a formidable mix of colleagues who have remained loyal to Hartcliffe, offering a real basis for stability and those recently trained, joining us for the excellent grounding Hartcliffe Engineering Community College gives as they start in the profession.

Entrance

Teachers are expected to focus on their core business and we have a dedicated team of support staff who ensure administrative tasks are completed efficiently. Students are supported by a range of people who serve them directly; for instance we have a full time first aider, education welfare officer and four Learning Mentors. Our supportive atmosphere is one we pride ourselves on, for we know it helps our students focus on getting their best out of their time at Hartcliffe.

Governors

Governors of the school offer significant support and challenge and were identified as a real strength of the school in our May 2007 Ofsted Report.

We have been ably supported in achieving our Specialist College status by:

  • John James (Bristol) Foundation
  • Merchant Venturers
  • Hebron & Medlock
  • Bailey Caravans
